Hi, I'm Ashritha 👋

I'm an aspiring Strategy & Biz Ops leader looking for roles in climate tech. I'm most excited about companies working on carbon removal and decarbonization.

Previously, I worked as a journalist. My work has appeared in publications such as The Juggernaut and Morning Brew. I was also the insights editor and an ad-hoc project manager at Long Dash, a creative consultancy originally founded by The Atlantic.

I'm a co-founder of College Ventures Network, a global community of 50+ student-led accelerators + venture funds, and Project W, an idea-stage incubator for women in college.

more about me 👇

I graduated from Babson College where I was a CWEL scholar. During college, I frequently cross-registered at Olin College of Engineering and studied abroad for one year at the London School of Economics & Political Science as a General Course student.

Sustainability coursework:

  • Sustainable Operations and Innovation

  • Sustainable [Product + Systems] Design

  • Design Nature (mechanical design)

  • Sustainable Food Systems

  • Energy and The Environment

  • The History and Ethics of Capitalism (research focus on  the merit of "eco-capitalism")

I recently completed a certificate in Carbon Capture and Storage from The University of Edinburgh via edX and am currently enrolled in Airminers 6-week course in Carbon Removal

my recent work  👇

climate / sustainability projects.

  • Sustainable Product Re-design: Used single-factor lifecycle analysis (the ReCiPe model) to analyze the ecological impact of a traditional aerogarden and re-designed a sustainable alternative.

    • My team spent 5 weeks redesigning aerogardens to be more sustainable products using green design principles. First, we conducted user interviews to identify primary user needs, behavioral usage patterns, and the general lifecycle of an aerogarden. Second, we dissected the aerogarden to analyze the environmental impacts of each of its parts and determine the lifetime usage impact of each of our identified user personas. Finally, we created a new sustainable product alternative for aerogarden users. Link includes product poster updates through the varying stages.

  • Sustainable Operations in Supply Chains: Worked on a fashion industry supply chain project and conducted a cradle-to-grave environmental impact analysis of select garments using Okala lifecycle analysis factors to calculate total carbon emissions. I compared the forecasted carbon footprints of different clothing materials such as rayon, polyester, and spandex.

  • Sustainable Systems Design: Mapped various material and energy value flows of the supply chain of a hypothetical mobile grocer startup that contracts high-quality excess produce from large agricultural farms to sell in nearby food apartheids on a sliding price scale (inspired by the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model) to understand the working components of a sustainable system.

  • Sustainable Operations (Environment + Social Governance): Co-wrote a report on the fast fashion clothing industry in Los Angeles using the systems thinking principles outlined by impact investment fund, The Omidyar Group. Conducted an S.A.T (Structural, Attitudinal, and Transactional) analysis to identify upstream and downstream causes of systemic issues related to garment worker conditions and rights. Mapped multiple feedback loops around workers' rights, supply chain efficiency, and consumer behavior.

College Ventures Network - Co-Founder

Project W - Co-Founder + Director | Advisor

  • I managed a team of 13 to execute across our two pillars: Project Pods and Inner Circle.

    • Project Pods is a semester-long incubator at the Babson, Olin, and Wellesley College (BOW) consortium dedicated to helping pods of 3–5 women take their idea to the prototype stage utilizing the Design Thinking methodology and the Lean Startup framework.

    • Inner Circle is a tight-knit cohort of women with programming centered around personal and professional development.

  • I raised $7500 alongside my co-founders for launch and chapter expansion.

other projects.

Analysis of Predictive Models for Financial Success of Independent Movies

My team merged and pre-processed a dataset of 500 entries and 8 predictor variables using R Studio to generate a classification tree model, ROC curves, & a K-Nearest Neighbors model. We then analyzed which characteristics statistically led to independent movies becoming profitable from results.

Designing for Librarians: Furniture Matching Service for Updating Shared Spaces

My team spent 3 weeks conducting interviews to learn the routines, patterns, and most salient problems librarians in the Greater Boston Area face in their daily lives. After identifying the most common user need: updating outdated spaces under financial constraints, we spent 3 weeks co-designing and prototyping solutions. Our final product proposal was a web service that provides librarians lightweight modular furniture based on needs, preferences, and affordability. A subscription box style algorithm helps determine the ideal layout and pieces based on inputted specs.  Skills learned include design thinking, ethnographic research, concept development, user co-design, and interaction design.

Mortal Clawmbat: The Game

In the course Design Nature, my team was tasked with designing and engineering a real-life multiplayer game for local 4th graders based on the behavior and characteristics of hermit crabs. Skills learned include CAD (Autodesk Fusion 360), mechanical prototyping, product iterating, laser cutting, and storyboarding.

for fun :)
